My Spring Break

Hey! This is Kaitlyn!I am on spring break now. Guess where I am??? HOME!! I didn't go anywhere. Hey, Allison and Aubrey, was Navoo fun? How in the world did Chandler dislocate his elbow? Geez that must have hurt! Considering he's little. Oh, and good idea about baptisms for the dead at the temple. That would be fun! I am so excited for this summer so I can see everybody.

Love,
Kaitlyn :)

Spring Break: Located in Navoo

Hi this is Aubrey! Me and my family just got back from Navoo yesterday. I am going to tell you all about it. First, on Thursday we left at 5:00 P.M and we drove for about 4hr. and got to Illinos. Then on Friday we drove 4 more hours and got to Carthridge. Then Chandler dislocated his elbow and had to go to the hospital at about 6:00 mom came to the hotel with chandler. ( As a hotel we stayed in this old historicas building that was called the Woodruff Hotel). While mom was gone with Chandler at the hospital, everyone else walked around the Navoo temple (which we had a great veiw from our hotel window!) Then when mom got back with Chandler we drove across the Mississippi river and went out to eat. Then Mom went to the store and got food for dinner the next day. Then we drove back to our hotel and got to watch some TV than we went to bed. On Saterday it was Reese's birthday and we got a huge cinammon roll that we all shared, it was delicious! Then we set out to the visitor center and we got tickets for that days events. We got tickets for a wagon ride and the show called Rendevous In Old Navoo, I'll tell you about that later. First we got to go to some houses. The coolest house I went to was the Bakery because it had the steepest staircase I ever saw! (and we got litte gingerbread cookies!) Then we went on the wagon ride it was fun and Reese fell asleep on my lap! Then we went to some little shops and homes. We went to the Family living Center and helped make some rope. We learned about candle making and bread making and we got to try some yummy bread! Then we went to the brick yard and we got a little brick that said Old Navoo on it! Then it was 5:00 and we went to the Joseph smith graveyard and we stood by Hyrums, Emmas, and Josephs grave and we took a picture and I'll put that picture on when my Mom downloads them onto the computer. At 7:50 we went to go to the show Rendevous In Old Navoo it was sad and funny at the same time! Just think of what the saints that were crossing the Mississippi thinking... Well I know they were thinking of how they were leaving their temple and they did not know that there temple would later be destroyed. But their work did not go to wast because of that temple they were sealed together as families and would be together forever. A story in the play we watched was about two lovebirds and one was named Abbygail and the other Peter. Abbygail came all the way to Navoo to come and get a pickle barrel. But she really wanted to come and see Peter so she came and saw each other and she said she could not marry him because she had been asked by someone named Ezra to marry her and she could not marry him because he believed in the Book of Mormon. So they argoued about how it is true and it is not true. Abbygail said that everyone were she lived said it was not true so Peter said " Has anyone even read it?" Abbygail replied "Umm, no." Then she said that Ezra said it was a bad book and Peter asked how he knew because Ezra can't read. Then Abbygail left and Peter started calling her back so she came back and said "Yes, Peter?" and he said "Don't forgot your pickle barrel!" Then she left and did not come back when he called. Later in the play Abbygail came back and said someone had left a copy of the Book of Mormon in her pickle barrel and she had read it and asked Peter why he did not tell her it was such a remarkable book and then Peter asked if she read it and she said right after she told Ezra she would not marry him so then she left with Peter when the saints left. (The End!) When my Grandma and Grandpa Hurley were in Navoo on their mission this is the part they played in this play. After that play we went back to the hotel and went to bed. On Sunday we got packed and went to the car and found a bunch of Easter Eggs in our seats! Then we took one last drive around Navoo and drove home.

I was wondering if mabey somtime next year we can all plan to come out on the same time and do babtisms for the dead in the Navoo temple and we could all hang out I hope we can do that! Well see you all in June! You too Jamie!
Love,
Aubrey
