Jess is Jumping with Joy

How's that for an alliteration? Anyways, Kaitlyn beat me to it: she posted on our weekend first. I was so excited last night when my mom called and told me that Marissa and Kaitlyn could come down for the weekend. I cannot wait! I only have...3 and a half hours until I get to meet them, and Grandma, and, obviously, my mom. I just can't wait!
More on the goodreads: it's goodreads.com and anyone can join. You can mark books as "read" "am reading" or "have read." You can even specify categories. Where has this website been all my life? If anyone joins (which you totally should), my username is Jensa, and you can visit my page at goodreads.com/jensa (I think that's what my URL is).
Anyways, have a good day, all! I know I will!

Kaitlyn Is Excited!!!

Hi this is Kaitlyn, as you can tell by the title. I am excited! (also as you can tell by the title) Well, Collin and I have school in about half an hour, and Marissa's class started at 8. Collin is the only one going to school today. Marissa and I get to skip school because at 10 am Grandma is coming to pick me and Marissa up. Wanna know why? Because we are going down to St. George to visit Trey, Jess, and Kristy. We will have so much fun. I don't yet know exactly what we are doing, but I will tell you when I get back. I will be back on Sunday. Bye!

Jenessa Decides to Write Again

Okay, I've been out of action for a looooong time. I have so much to say, and only...4 minutes to say it. Needless to say that during my lunchtime the next few days, I know where I'll be. So, as I've said, lots has happened. The saddest thing by far is that I am no longer in auto shop. That's okay; I go visist Mr. Cooper. In fact, today, I'm leaving fit for life early with my friend and we're going to pop in. I hope it's a shop day, otherwise it will be awkward to walk in and try and talk.
Let's see...I've celebrated over 4 birthdays this month, family members only. I've applied for my passport and it should show up any day now. I have too much homework and too little time.
Hey, for the readers of this blog, you know how it's hard to keep track of what you read and what you want to read (shoot, the bell just rang!) Well, visit goodreads.com....and I'll explain more tomorrow. Bye!

Marissa is a Great Artist

Alright, I tried to publish this earlier, but the file was so big that it crashed our server. So I had to separate this into 2 posts. You can find the pictures below and read this if you want to know the stories behind each piece of artwork. These are in order of least favorite to favorite.

The semester is over and I no longer have art class anymore. I'm so sad! It was my first art class ever and so fun! Anyways, here is some info about the art that I made while I was in that wonderful class.

11. For this assignment, we were supposed to trace a model and design an outfit for them using certain color schemes. For this one, I chose to do analogous colors, which means using 3 or 4 colors that are next to eachother in the color wheel.

10. This was our bell work. We got this out at the beginning of every day and worked on it for about 10 min. before we worked on our assignment. We had a piece of paper that said what to draw on each square and we didn't know what it was supposed to be until it was almost done.

9. This was from the same assignment as #11. I like this dress better though. This coor scheme was called monochromatic, which means it's just one color that's darker and lighter.

8. This was bell work #2. It took a lot longer than the first one. I had no clue what it was until it was completely finished. I'm still not sure, though. It appears to be a man with a sword riding a horse, but the rest of it is just a bunch of grey.

7. For this one, we used a grid to transfer a car onto our paper and use patterns and transition to decorate it. You can find transition in the windows and the background, and the pattern are... everything else. My scanner wasn't big enough to scan the whole thing, but you get the idea.

6. Often times in art, I finish assignments early and have a day where I do nothing. There was a pumpkin art contest at our school, so I decided to enter while a lot of the other students caught up on thier other work. I sketched a couple of ideas and chose my favorite eyes, mouths, and noses. I drew my design on one of the pre-made pumpkins and then traced it onto another piece of paper so that I could draw the cape on. For the contest, there was one winner from each grade, one overall winner, and five honorable mentions. I won an honorable mention, happiness, and a really big Snicker's bar.

5. This is Santa. Ho ho ho. This took about 2 weeks to do. It's definately the longest time it's taken me to do any of these. The teacher drew him up on the board and we drew along with him on our own pieces of paper, and then painted it with watercolor. I'm actually not very good at watercolor. Everyone else's were all crisp and clean while my colors ran together out of the lines that took a week to draw. But it ended up looking nice, so whatever.

4. This is an ornament, in case you couldn't tell, and I made it with dots, in case you couldn't tell. It has every color of the rainbow (yes even green and orange, look closer) plus pink and black.

3. For the last week of art, we worked on cartooning and we had to come up with our own cartoon. So I made this amazing bunny. Aaaaaawww... Isn't he cute? Yes, yes he is. *Sigh* I wish I had a real bunny, only I wouldn't have to clean out its cage.

2. This was my first time using real watercolor paper and a accidentally used the wrong side. Oops... I just wanted to use the smooth side, okay? Anyways, I arranged the leaves on the paper and traced them ever so delicately and painted them with some of the best watercolor painting skills ever seen, and finally decorated it using my world-famous calligraphy. I'm exagerating a little, but still, I think it turned out really good, and that is why it is #2.

1. Lo and behold, my most amazing artwork I've ever made ever. We had to draw this for Veteran's Day. (Yay veterans!) It took a long time and a lot of hard work, but I did it. And no, I didn't trace anything. I wasn't allowed to. It took 2 days to draw the outline, and then 4 days to draw the inside, and 2 more days to draw the grass and flag background. This is by far the artwork I am most proud of.

Well, that's all my art from school. I hope that you liked it!

Love, Marissa

Defeating boredom

Hi this is Allison here with a couple of tips on how to defeat boredom. But first I have to define the five signs of boredom so that you know when to use the tips on defeating boredom.
Five signs of boredom-and tips to help
1) You are not doing anything that you consider a hobby or fun.
This is a sure sign that you are either bored or going to be. DUH! You're not doing anything.
2) You're spaced out and frequently have to ask a person to repeat themselves because you weren't listening to what they were saying.
If you can't listen what the person is saying whatever they are saying is boring. If they're talking about the last six episodes of star trek you need to tell them to find something that will benifit their life.
3)You are tired.
Go to bed.
4)Nothing that you usually do appeals to you.
5)TV isn't fun to watch.
Go on the computer, something's sure to intrest you there. Or you could go to sleep, or eat, something that doesn't take up energy.
I'm not sure if these are very helpful, but you may take them into your mind anyway. So, Aubrey tried to help me with the spelling words for our school spelling bee yesterday and prounounced malevolent as man-violence. I still can't get over it. Oh,and here's a picture I drew on Paint when I got bored yesterday-
Well, Bye!-Allison:D

Grandmas Pictures

Hi! Hillary here. Grandma sent us a CD with some pictures on it so I wanted to share the best of the best!!

Grandpa Gale and Ethan chop chop chopping down our ugly pine tree...I kind of miss it!

CRAZY KIDS!

Allison and Aubrey were helping rake leaves and carry them to our leaf burning pile and Chandler was having a blast riding in the leaf bucket!

We took Grandma and Grandpa to a field where the Wright Brothers practiced flying. They would lay on their bellies on their airplane then catapult it into the air (they didn't know yet how to get it into the air.) They crashed many many times!! They liked this field because it was hidden by a bunch of trees and they didn't like spectators or a lot of questions.

Reese is going to be 2 in April. He is a very sensitive cuddly little boy. If someone sits on the floor he will instantly plop right into their lap, usually bringing a book with him. He is kind of a scardy cat and is afraid of getting off the kitchen chairs by himself, animals, and his new electric toothbrush. (It was FREE with coupons!) Reese LOVES FRUIT! Like when we eat dinner, he would rather just have applesauce and nothing else. If you put chicken nugget and a kiwi in front of him, he'd choose the kiwi. He is getting so big, him and Chandler share clothes now!

Aubrey is a tree hugger!

I wonder what Leo is thinking...insert caption HERE.

Spencer is throwing gang signs...what a rebel!

This is Jack Jack. Next year for Halloween he's going to be a Jack in the Box. Or a Jack Hammer. or Jack and Jill. or a Jack O Lantern. (We have fun with his name.) His name is Jack Christian because we couldn't name him Jack Mormon hahaha. He is a really really good baby! He is 3 months old TODAY and super smiley. He is pretty easy to fix. Like when he cries, we feed him, change his poopy diaper (he hates those), or put him to bed and he's fixed! Easy kid to please! Chandler and Reese love his toys, his swing, his bouncer, his bed...they think all of those things are for them and totally take over if Jack is not occupying them at the moment.

Chandler is the life of the party. He is super active, all boy. Gets into trouble, has 2 year old fits, puts his stuffed animals in time out, and climbs out of his crib 5 times before he will actually fall asleep. He says so many new words every day. His new favorite phrase is "Alright then." He loves cutie oranges and MEAT. Definitely a carnivore!

We miss you guys and love hearing about what you're doing!
P.S. Look what else I have...Spencer when he was so teeny tiny. Look how small he is!!

Allison is all "Tangled" up!

I'm assuming most everybody by now has seen the movie Tangled. It is one of the most amazing movies and I can't deny it! Let me just wish everyone a happy new year and I hope everyone enjoys their last year of life! HA HA HA >evil laugh<. It's 2012 folks! Time to live it up as supposobly the world is suppose to end. (for complete information consult the movie 2012, an entirely FICTIONAL thriller) Don't worry the world is not going to end. As the Elders from our ward were kind enough to tell us, DON'T PANIC, THIS IS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!!
Back to Tangled, me and Aub were discussing today our ideas for a girl's camp skit this year and we got the idea for a tangled theamed skit featuring gospel themed material and songs! Here's the basic outline. A couple of missionaries came to the island and left a book of mormon, Gothel found the book of mormon and finds it to be false, so she tries to hide it, but she discovers that it's light is so powerful that it keeps her young forever when she sings to it. the queen gets sick and the men of the kingdom find the Book of Mormon and are converted, they give the queen the book of Mormon and a blessing. They built a temple in honor of the gospel and light it with laterns!!!! The rest is the same up to when the get to the part in the movie when Rapunzel is singing about how her days go. Then, Flynn Rider is changed to a sister missionary ( Sister Rider) who refuses to go to a certain person's residence, henceforth she is chased by the church leaders to the tower where Rapunzel lives, and meets Rapunzel who knocks Sister Rider out and steals her Book of Mormon and Preach My Gospel. Rapunzel then offers her a deal and the following conversation is led out-
Rapunzel: Sister Rider do you know what this light is?
Sister: You mean the Temple?
Rapunzel: THe Temple! I knew it wasn't the moon!Well Sister Rider, I would like to go to this Temple. You will act as my escort to take me safely there and return me back safely home. Then and only then will I return your missionary bag to you. That is my deal.
Sister: No can do, you can't go to the Temple without a reccomend.
We all remember what happens when Rapunzel is led to the Snuggly Duckling for lunch. But instead of I Have a dream it's I know the truth.
Scary looking man: Do you know the truth?
Sister Rider: Sorry guys, I don't preach to unqualified canidates.
Sister Rider singing: I know the truth, no really. I am a misssionary. I preach the gospel to all those who will listen! I am LDS and I know the way to God! I carry the Book of Mormon with me!
We've also altered the song that Gothel sings to the flower so that it makes more sense as she's singing it to the Book of MOrmon-
Gospel gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Let the whole world know
Your the truth, the light
Your the truth, the light
Heal the hurting hearts
Lend a helping hand
Comfort those in need
Show your the truth, the light
The truth, the light
Well there you have it! I literally am "All Tangled up" at the moment! As soon as Aubrey and I figure the rest out you'll know, in the meantime, let the "gospel gleam and glow" within in your hearts. Trust me, you don't need a magic Book of Mormon.
